Poolbeg hounds

[b]People ... Me, the bro , mark12976 and his son

[b]Duration.... 8pm to 3am

[b]Tide.... Low to high

[b]Weather. Light sw wind dry and calm

[b]Bait... Peeler crab

[b]Rigs.... Pulley pennel

[b]Results... 8 smoothound

[b]Report...... Decided to hit poolbeg again for a few smoothound. Arrived at 8pm tide was fully out so decided to fish the light house. Fishing was slow enough. But about a half hour in the first smoothie landed by mark. They were out there but we weren't getting regular bites like previous sessions. We had 2 hounds at the lighthouse and decided to head back to the half moon. Got to the half moon and only out 5 minutes and fish on . We got lots of bites but for some reason we just weren't hooking into them we had 5 hounds at the half moon . We wanted to go home but we were stranded on the pier as the tide was coming in the pier from the half moon up to the car park was under a foot of water so we had to wait till the tide went out before we could make our way to the car. Lucky enough there was no wind and it was flat calm otherwise we were in trouble. When the ships were going in and out they sent big waves over crashing into the sitting area at the half moon. Ended up getting home at nearly 5 o'clock in the morning coz we were stranded on the pier. All in all it was a good session and we enjoyed it but it would of been nice to get home a little bit earlier lol.

HW was at 2.45ish on Friday morning and tide height was 4.4 mts so a very big tide... Check next time before you go to the half moon

I knew the tide was that high but I never taught the tide would come up over the pier it's my 3rd time fishing it and I never seen it like that. Well the biggest tide I fished it was a 3.9 Tide but I know in future what to look out for. I think I'll hit the beaches on the high tides instead. Much safer and I can choose what time to go home at.
