Report:Only my third outing of the season and the previous two resulted in 2 blankety blanks and the other marks I fished in Strangford Lough are far more renowned for seatrout, but thats fishing. Great sport on my light spinning rod, a very acrobatic fish, it leapt clear of the surface as soon as it was hooked. Almost lost it in the kelp at the waters edge but I gave it a bit of line and it swam back out into the clear. I would have swore blind it was around the 2 pound mark as it was a long fish but it weighed in at 1lb 4oz. I'm happy to get the season up and running.

good to find the fish, its always nice not to blank and sea trout arn't to be scoffed! I fished that area about a month ago, rag on float but unfourtunately blanked.

Nice one with the sea trout I am trying to bag one myself at the minute. Does browns bay fish well I have never tried it?

Browns bay is a great wee spot with a good variety of species available. Seatrout, flounder, pollock, coalie, wrasse, whiting, codling, rockling, dogfish and the occasional bass. Well worth a throw chum.

Is it a night venue or does it fish well during the day too? Maybe have to give it a chuck sometime. Thats if i can get near it with you mentioning Bass

.

There isn't enough numbers of Bass caught there to get alot of interest. Really aren't worth targeting at this mark but it does throw up a few every year. Only ever fished it during daylight hours and it fishes well.
