Codling Showing Yet?

Postby Dave F » Fri Oct 02, 2020 11:13 am

Anyone seeing any cod showing on the east coast yet, particularly on any of the Wicklow or Wexford beaches?

I had a few casts at Ferrypoint Yesterday at the start of the flood not a sign of a cod not even small fish.

I'll get out in the next few weeks around Shankill hopefully. That's a good spot for them. Worth a try anyway.

Will hopefully get out tonight and fish the incoming tide.
Does anyone have any opinions as to whether to hit Garryvoe or Ballinwilling? Will be fishing second half of the rise.

You are better off not knowing, with the covid-19 restrictions on travel been enforced, you will be only upsetting yourself :(

Garryvoe last night end of the path where it meets the caravan park. Nothing only a very small strap conger. Last 2.5 hours of rise and first of ebb.

Large sandeel and mackerel combo on one rod, lug on the other. No scratching done.

Flat calm conditions no weed so pleasant to fish in. Tide was very small yesterday so hopefully it will be better as the tides strengthen
