No mackerel Sunday June 9th near Lahinch, fishing both sides of the high tide. I managed to hook a few pollock but no keepers.

3 hours before and 1 after high tide yesterday at Clogherhead. Around 10 people fishing. Plenty of small Pollock but not a Mackerel in sight.

2 rods fished Sunday in Boatstrand, 9-10am. Nothing (falling tide). We went around to Brownstown head for a look and met some people who had 1 mack between them.

Personally I don't enjoy feather bashing. Balsa float and 4lb line is far better sport. Unfortunately you can't use this technique when its blowing a force 6. The bad weather is a killer for me.

you cant beat a light rod with a float great sport or a light spinning rod,but when you need some bait for the ray or freezer thats when the feathers come into play for me

Yes it was a gorgeous day today but I couldn't go out to the sea because my dad was working so I had to settle for my local river I caught minnow stickleback perch and a brown trout, not bad for a few hours fishing but I would have loved to head out for the macs
