Noob question, why are there 4 times and heights? Does the tide go in and out twice a day?

They do indeed and because it takes slightly longer than 12 hours for it to come in and go out, the high and low times change from day to day.

thanks, another question, I downloaded a cool iphone app that shows me the tides, graphs etc but only for the north wall in dublin, how would i estimate the tides for say dun laoghiare or dalkey??
