Re: Duncannon - Fierce Dogs, a Cat and a lost Akios Reel
Cats and dogs? I thought it was raining! Pity about losing the reel, takes a bit of the shine off the trip. What kind of rig did you catch the cat on?, I have a couple of nuisance cats around home I'd like to get rid of; I'll obviously have to use a wire biting trace!

Hahaha, very good johnwest, I'm heading down the estuary tonight, I was using a a 50 lb greased weasel rig body, with traditional 20lb cat-gut snoods, cat probably thought he was rescuing one of his pals

Hi there, did you manage to get out and fish Arthurstown before the storm? Or anywhere in the Estuary recently Teegerstk?

Eh, technically the right thread?Rod Tips wrote:Lol! Wrong Thread!
I've been out a few times since then since the storm, with mostly dogfish and codling showing. Then I was out friday night, 8 flats and 2 codling in a good 90 mins so fairly busy for once!
Last night a few flats and codling again taking a liking to sandeel and fresh lug. Hoping to hit a new mark further down towards the hook tonight!

Excellent stuff Teegerstk, good fishing. I'm hoping to spend a few evenings or overnights ar Forenaught beach just south of woodstown on the Waterford side, I've heard its good for sole and maybe plaice?
Let us know how you get on when you try your mark closer to the hook? Best if luck

Yeah I've definitely heard about sole/plaice from woodstown, nothing recent though.Rod Tips wrote:Excellent stuff Teegerstk, good fishing. The new mark produced 2 dogfish over 2 hours on just lug so better than nothing. Had to pull for a break once but at least I know where to cast now!
I'll be hitting more marks around here once these exams are over. Good luck
