Re: New TTLD first impressions :- )
Put the rod through a good workout last night on the beach casting 5 oz and clipped down rig with fish fillets on twin 6/0's targeting smooth hounds and Salmon. Caught some Salmon on the TTLD and a smooth hound on the Kompressor S. Really liked the way that the TTLD sent out the weight and bait with easy . Must note though that you need to take a slow turn in the cast as the extra weight really allows the rod to load up, but when it unwinds it punches the rig out beautifully. I had it matched to SL20SH and .31mm mainline.
Looking forward to the next trip.

Nice fish mate. Didn't know you got hounds over there. Nice one. You should throw up a few more reports mate. Nice to see what anglers from other parts of the planet are up to.

Re: New TTLD first impressions :- )
got one of these yesterday. really struck me how thin it was whan casting. fished with a 3 hook clipped pat, small baits for whiting and a 150gm gripper. no problems handling this, cast them effertlessly and showed bits from pins from about 80yds but still seems to have plenty more left in it. tried a few casts with just a weight and manage about 120 with a relatively gentle aerialised otg. one thing is that with the blank being so thin it will take a wee bit of getting use to whn casting and on retrieving.

Re: New TTLD first impressions :- )
Have used the rod a fare bit over the last few weekends and really like the way it is performing with a wide range of baits and casting conditions.
The rod is being used along side my Kompressor S in most situations and must saay that it handles all of the smaller fish very well showing up bites and handling the fish with no problem.
Here is a picture of a small Port Jackson shark that I got on the TTLD .

Also a reasonable sized Skate that I got on the Kompressor S.

I will be using both rods again tomorrow evening to see if I can get into a few good Snapper.
Will report back.
Regards
