Storm moving boulders

Hi .Was over on Inishmore a few weeks ago. Got to a spot I normally fish from and there were two big boulders that were not there the last time I fished there.Looked around a bit and found where they were broken off the cliff face and pushed by the sea in to a corner. The place they broke of was about 30 meters away. The bigger boulder was about 5 foot high by 5 feet wide which according to a website is about 15 tons or so.Would not like to be on that ledge when that was going on.You can see the marks the boulders made on the ground as the waves pushed them to where they are now.Which they will probably stay for who knows long. From this I can see how the islands are formed. One or two of these a century over the course of millions of years adds up.

Happens a lot during storms, that’s why I’ll always maintain the phrase “never underestimate the power of the sea”.
Where I am in the inner Galway bay side, the last few storms have eroded quite a bit of the shore, and moved quite a few boulders around.

Other way around down my way. 3 photos from an East Cork venue taken from Google Earth on how the coast line has gone the opposite way.

The pin marks were never changed in the 3 pics.

Thanks for that Donal. It looks like the last pic there is plants starting to grow there unless I'm mistaken.

The usual shore line vegetation. You can drive out to the point across the shallow dunes. It changed the hole structure of fishing in the channel. Normally I would fish about where the top right hand corner of the drop down menu is.
I found it pushed the best of the flounder to the far side of the channel on the flooding tide.
