Fishing Buddy/Trainer Clare/.Shannon region

Postby BigPapi34 » Sun May 10, 2009 9:20 am

Dear one and all ...Im looking for some help.I was taken beach casting with my brother last year and had a fabulous evening . My understanding seemed that it was a quite simple way to pass a few hours and wouldnt take loads of knowledge to get started . However since I have been back I have had a couple of dicey experiences and am now lost all confidence . In fact I would say i really need to start from scratch again to be honest .Today I thought about going , packed up the car with the bits and pieces I have ....and then drove a mile up the road before I got a complete crisis of confidence .Im wondering if there was any one whom I could tag along with at some stage in the near future . Im not looking to catch loads of big fish . Just something that will pass the times at weekends and will give me a bit of simple pleasure . To feel the bend in the rod is a great feeling I know from my river fishing days . I have purchased rods and reels but to be honest ....dont really know what I have bought and what to do with them. A couple of lessons could and would be invaluable for some to show me the complete basics . Even if your off out for an evening nd i could watch and learn from you .I thank anyone in advance for your assistance . Dave

Well I summoned up a bit of courage and went for it today . I think its called Mackey Bashing but im delighted with my first ever fish . There were a good few caught south of Kilkee . One fella had a full house of 6 in one cast !! So they seem to be on their way .....any way one for the fridge , one for the freezer ....and one for tonights plate . I feel Ive earned my dinner tonight .
