This session won't be the event of the year where Dan strikes fello fisherman with freshly got fish :)
This will just be myself, Dan maybe Coaster doing a bit of conger fishing.
You don't really need a heavy rod as the majority of fish landed will be straps and doggies. Will be good fun all the same if you want to get out for a few hours. We're heading out about 7-8 pm

Not expecting much mate. :|
Just a bunch of lads who most people would think are mental, standing in the dark, probably freezing, catching things they have no intention of eating.
Bloody perfick.

Talk soon mate!
Thu Oct 19, 2006 3:41 pm
We will either be there or on the pier across from the pub. if the tide is going out we will be on the spot bobby was talking bout, if it is coming in we will be on the pier
Thu Oct 19, 2006 3:46 pm
I doubt we'll get the pier man. Theres always sprogs with their parents spinning for macks or trying to net crabs there. You could always get your conger and run over and scare them all away. Don't think the guys will be too happy with that though as their trying to get a lot good PR done with the locals :)

Sure we will go over there after the low water for the incoming tide, for the last while. no one will be round at that time and if they are we will just throw live crabs at them! hahaha!!!!
All the people concerned with PR, I'm only messing!

petekd wrote:Dunno what your driving Shamrock, 5 1/2 hours usually does it for me!! Its not a bad drive to be honest coming down that side of the country, its virtually motorway to Portlaoise and the road from there to Cork (100 miles or so) isnt that bad at all.
I don't drive, I was always in a bus heading down to matches in Cork. We never went near Portlaoise either - down the west coast. Through Sligo, Galway, Limerick, etc.
Always stopped for a while in Tuam as well for a bag of chips and every half hour on route for a pi$$ stop - maybe that explains the 8 hours... :D

Best thing to do sean is to park up the car by the bosun pub and then you will see the tunnel. Its a walk right under the road and if you walk to the end of it there is a little platform jutting out and thats where we'll be man.

BTW if you stuck for a rod I'll throw a few spares in the back of the car for ya, so you can take one of them if you find your rod isn't heavy enough. Just make sure to bring a reel, these are in very short supply in my gear at the moment.
