Light Ledgering Rod?

Hi folks. Looking for a bit of advice here. I'm getting more and more interested in using lighter tackle from the shore. I've recently bought a cormoran ulx 1-9g 7ft rod for ultra light lure fishing and close in bait fishing and the fight from even the smallest fish is great. I want to branch out and I'm looking for a 10-11ft rod that can cast around 1oz-2oz max a fair bit. I reckon i'm going to target flatties, bass maybe even smoothies with a 2500-4000 size reel loaded with braid in the summer. A coarse setup would probably fit the bill but I'm out of touch with that side of fishing so any help greatly appreciated. I already have a greys bze and while it's a really nice rod it's a little too strong for a proper fight from fish up to 3-4lb. Any ideas?

Ian Golds einticer would be well worth a look.

haven't seen them in the flesh but reckon it might be a bit too heavy. was thinking more along the lines of a feeder/quiver tip type. thanks though

Cracking piece of kit for the money.

Dont dismiss it until you've had a look at one.

I match mine with both a 2500 reel loaded with 10lb braid or a 4000 reel with 30lb braid depending on circumstances.

Best suited to 1-2oz leads but can handle 3-4 if needed - handy if you need to put a bait out a bit further.

Easily casts 70/80 yards with 2-3 oz leads

Ultra light, very slim rod with a very sensitive tip, thats just as at home bringing in 1/2lb flatties as it is 5-6lb fish.

Reminds me a bit of my old course fishing match rods.

Had a few smoothies on mine last summer inc a specimen just under 8lb - great craic I can tell you

Its the 1st rod I take out if conditions allow.

Might not suit, but definately worth a look before you rule it out.

I like you got a bit sick of going fishing overgunned, hence my decision to buy the enticer.

Have to say, I'm well chuffed with it.

grauvell do some very light telescopic rods and some cracking light and long spinning rods ,you should take a look at light pike rods too some of the 2lb tc ones might fit the bill it depends on how much bend you want for your buck

Have the ian golds enticer and will vouch for that too,great rod nice and light and great fun even with small fish.I matched it with a shimano titanus 5500 and it can wack a 2oz weight out some distance,it also comes with an excellant rod bag included.....

Have a look at the Shimano heavy and extra heavy feeder rods, I have a 14' older Beastmaster version and it's great for flats and bass.

I would also have a look at some extra heavy feeder rods. A Long range carp feeder rod would be well suited. These rods can cast 2oz leads and bait some distance. The Angling show that is coming up in Feb would be an excellent place to pick up this type of rod.

The IG Enticer, does sound like a lovely Rod. I will check that one out soon.
