i had one of the older blue hst rods sold it to a guy in coleraine, its very stiff and has loads of power ,imho a long range or rough ground rod and more suited to the low pendulm cast.from memory its about 13ft 3" and a very powerful rod, would handle very rough ground and semi rough but a bit to stiff for flounder and small whiting.three dogfish no problem at all.cheers john

The HST (High Speed Tournament) like John said would be a good long range, rough ground rod, many Match anglers have that rod in there arsenal, thats probably the reason why Terry brought out the HSM (High Speed Match) that is some fishing rod, everyone I know who has used it calls it very user friendly.
Denis Brock bought one off me last week, he took it out to use and phoned me from the beach to order another   check out his report and see the Bass that he got with it on its first outing :)

thanks john and tom, i certainly prefer a more powerfull rod, this is
probably the only zzipie i have yet to cast with along with the HSM you
mentioned tom, hard to get a good second -hand one that hasnt been
thrashed over a tournament court,
regards steve.
