Hi all,
Had mackerel and herring (and a touch of frostbite!) on 6th March out of Kilmore Quay on the Enterprise. Has warmed up a bit since then.

Hi Lads!
Great conditions on the water yesterday. Had about 8 or 9 species but most notably a large shoal of macs near the Cork bouy.

Re: BOAT MACKEREL REPORTS 2016
Plenty in cork harbour around low water, but when the basking sharks arrived they became scarce, most likely due to the amount of plankton in the water. Also in good numbers further offshore south of cork bouy.

Re: BOAT MACKEREL REPORTS 2016
3 of us caught about 20/30 mackerel in Donegal bay out on the boat on Sunday 5/6/16. Some really big mackerel. We went out general reef fishing and the only thing to save us from blanking was the mackerel. Skipper moved on a few times so hard to say how good the numbers where. a lot caught in 10-20m mark.

Re: BOAT MACKEREL REPORTS 2016
Out yesterday west of Carna for 3 hours and two of us caught 134. We could not avoid them and we were trying. All water depths. They were even taking rubber eels and lead heads. Good sized mackerel and very happy neighbours and family. Interestingly no sign of birds anywhere.
