People: 17 Borough members
Duration: 9.00-15.00
Tide: falling & the rising
Weather: fantastic sunshine and little wind
Bait: rag, mackerel , feathers, plus lots more
Rigs: various
Results: lots of dogs, wrasse, some good bullhuss , Pollock and some good cod
Report: The plan was to fish at anchor and half of our boat comps are on the drift and the others anchored. The boats anchored up quite near to each other. The idea was that half the time we would fish on a shingle bottom and then as the tide turned we would end up fishing on the reef.
It was dogs and more dogs and wrasse plus more wrasse. So John decided to try a mark E and in nearer towards shore.

No sooner was the anchor dropped that a cod of about 5 lb was landed by John Duff

and this was followed by one over 8lb by Aiden Garvey

. This was closely followed by Aiden landing a big bullhuss

. The nearly everyone was into huss.
Joe Curran then hooked a great fish and landed a massive huss. We took a rough reading on the weighing scales with the needle jumping between 20-22lb

. It was a beautiful specimen and might even have beaten the current record of 23lb. However, Joe returned the fish to fight another day.

Some Pollock were caught gilling but it was had work.
Overall a great day with lots of fish being landed by everybody.
