People:Two
Duration:8 hours
Tide:ebb/flood
Weather:ok ENE breeze bit of chop
Bait:mixed
Rigs:mixed
Results:mixed 7 species cod pollack whiting dabs dog ballen wrasse and short spined sea scorpion.
Report: this is my second attempt at this i lost the long version so this is the very short version, headed off shore over 5 miles against a chop got to destination and lost good sand anchor seriously drunk off and a few drifts and a few dabs and dogs i head back in to usual grounds few species more and a few moves anchored up went to move again boat would not go where i wanted it to go

poxy steering cable had snapped on me at this stage i was getting extremley drunk off, had to put thinking hat on and see what i was going to do call for a tow or something else so i chose the latter as conditions were good and i was about 3.5 miles from harbour ai constructed a pully system out of rope and wove it onto the side rails steering by hand using a polyprop rope not very nice but i got us back to outside harbour where we fished on waiting on the tide before we could get in got home safe and sound,i was happy something like this happened on my own stretch of water and not down in the likes of kilmore where things could have been a lot more challenging. just finished fixing boat and making up a new cable gromit because i couldnt get the size that was on the boat.it was a bitch of a job to do i had to take whole steering system out because of access any way job done and ready to go again, just putting this up because you never know what can go wrong in a very short space time. and after removing cable there was a very clean and un corroded cable inside seems to have snapped clean off down at the action end

I've had my fair share of boat troubles this season so I feel your pain John. Nice species count all the same. Still no Mackerel about?

A tough day, but at least you got home to write a report.
The best way to do reports is to do them in Microsoft Word the “COPY and PASTE”, if things go wrong then you still have it in Word to fall back on.
