Report:We headed off today with a couple of targets on the cards, first on the wish list was tope and the other was plaice. after bagging a dozen macks for fresh bait we set about looking for the big lads but i dont think they knew we were looking for them
The tope were not playing ball, but with the small rods out we did manage to keep very busy with a nice mix of species, including a few scad plenty of small huss to 6lb some nice grey gurnards over a pound and a few whiting over the magical 30cm mark and plenty more mackeral and dogs.after a our fill of this we decided to go after target number two.,
so we headed for a mark that we have not fished in some time because we taught all the Plaice were living on the turbot bank in cork it was not long before we were getting bites, but the wrong bites whiting and dogs were the first ones to appear
but as if someone hit a switch they went and the plaice and some small dabs appeared first one up was a 36cm cracker to harry,s delight I was very happy with that as my mark was producing the goods, and about 20 minutes later i have a double onboard another 36cm fish with another one about 25cm. after another hour or so and a couple more fish each it was time to call it a day
We will be back.
