Spurs and ling
Spurs were abundant. All around the 10lb. mark. One was pupping - baby spurs came out.
2 ling one 4lb. and the other about 12 lbs., which is big for these parts.
Steve - yes the spurs do tend to grind and chew the trace. When bottom fishing with mackeral ( fillets, flappers and whole ) I always use a wire trace. Rated, I think, at 50 or 60 lbs. breaking strain. As I am sure you are aware, spurs - tope - conger and huss will chew thick mono.
