Tide: low approx 3 pm

Weather: slack winds very sunny

Bait: crab mackeral lug

Rigs: flowing traces/ feathers

Results: plenty of mackeral pin whiting loads of l.s.d,s 2 ray to 7lb

Where do you fish around Dalkey to catch the ray? I assume you were at anchor?

I just get the self-drive hire boats from bullock the odd time - I don't think I'll risk the Burford bank in one of those things!
I was in bullock harbour one day last year and two lads had caught 3 ray between them from one of the rental boats. They couldn't have been much further out than the far side of the Muglins (I hope!).
