North Dublin 08.05.2021

Postby Gonzo » Sat May 08, 2021 11:10 pm

When: 08/05/2021
Where: North Dublin
Who: Myself
Duration: 20:00-22:45
High Water: 22:57
Equipment: 13ft bass rod 2 hook flapper size 4 hooks, and 15ft surf rod pennel pulley size 3/0 and 1 hooks.
My Bait: Peeler Crab & ragworm
Conditions: Southerly warm air and storm approaching, good surf
Result: 2 flounders, 1 Bass (New PB)

Only had the bait in the water 5 minutes and I was onto a bass, taken on a big peeler bait on the pennel, hooked with both hooks, measured 46cm and is my new PB. An hour later I had a double shot of flounders on the rag and then nothing for the rest of the evening :D

Is that a hot trick of bass now gonzo?.
You'll probably hook into the bigger bass from the beach marks.a bit further north.

That's 4 bass over the last 2 weeks now :D I'm thinking about heading down to Wexford for a weekend once restrictions are lifted tbh

Your doing well lad, before c0vid a tally of 4 bass for the season would be decent enough .
Wexford is fishing well for bass, the wexicans swear by good fresh lug and peeler.
