Tue Jun 30, 2020 12:05 am

When: 29/06/2020
Where: Skerries Pier
Duration: 16:30-19:30
High Water: 19:05
Equipment: 11ft Daiwa bass rod with Shimano 4000 Reel - 9ft Abu Spinning Rod with Shimano 4000 Reel - 15ft Shakespeare Agility 2 with Rovex 9000 Reel.
Bait/Rig: Hokkai feathers with 3oz weight on 11ft rod, float fished mackerel strip on the 9ft rod and 3 hook flapper with size 4 hooks, 3oz grip lead & ragworm on the 15ft rod.
Conditions: Strong winds and a lot of chop.
Result: Blank

Tried Skerries pier again today for some mackerel (trying to get some bait for boat fishing later this week). I started off with float fishing mackerel strip on the 9ft rod while casting the feathers on the 11ft rod but after an hour of nothing happening I grabbed my 15ft rod from the car to get some leftover ragworm from yesterday into the water. Caught nothing unfortunately, not even a nibble. Going to try somewhere further South tomorrow for macks!

That's a great knot Mick! Definitely would help with tangles, I was using paternoster for my rigs as I had bought pre-tied chinu hooks, next rig I make I'll give the T knot a try! :D
