North kerry 2 days

Postby nigelmcguane » Mon Jun 17, 2019 8:43 pm

location : north kerry
weather : sunny
bait : lug , squid , sand eel
results : 1 turbo :D :D
6 flounder
4 bass
2 ray

First time out in awhile, so with weekend off work, kids shipped to grandmother herself few quid thrown for shopping, i loaded up the car and headed to a fav mark of mine.
Arrived low water started digging my lug the eagerness to get a line in water hardly any lug dug got one rod out. Bearly out 5 mins while i digging seen nice tap tap tap thought flounder
but to my surprise a nice turbo first one in very long time(beaming). So baited up second rod and cast out the flounder started taken straight away 5 flounder which was nice to be getting fish i was after bass.
Deciding then to dug more lug or not as i was only getting flounder i didn't dig then that unmistakable bite off a bass brought in nice bass about 20 inchs(cursing myself for not digging more) as the tide starting to flood scraped around for 10 more lug.
10 mins later big bite from another bass nice little scarp off him 28-29 inches. 2 more bass and a flounder after that. down to feck all bait left cursing myself for not digging more headed off home delighted with days fishing.

Day 2 had to see a lad about a rod so said do another couple of hours while i down that way, deal done with the rod and nice bit of advice on where to fish headed (very appreciated pal) off to low water mark

Baited up rod with squid on 4/0 pulley cast out soon into a nice ray ( and coming from flounders bass and turbo the day before ) what a huge difference it hugged bottom so hard had great fight to get him in.
About 15 mins later rod went again into something real strong but was bitten off :( :( . Got another nice ray after that tide started flooding in so packed up and headed off home. cracking weekends fishing wish they all were like that #wrecked
