Its a bout right for that pier we fished it a couple of weeks ago and got the same small flats , doggies and codling its the usual for the Antrim coast at this time of year
Yeah, i reckon a lot of the bites I was getting was from small flatties..

Typical results Paddy. Red Bay used to offer fantastic fishing from shore and boat but like everywhere else, it is boll0xed! due to over-fishing.
Large plaice (3 - 4lb), cod (7 - 8lb) and a lot of other species were common from the shore 30+ years ago but nowadays you could fish all year and struggle to get a fish for the pan, from the shore.
The shore in the bay does offer a lot of species though, as long as you aren't expecting anything big then it can be an enjoyable and an accessible place to fish. Occasionally would throw up the odd bigger pollack, huss, the odd ray, and conger
