This is my first post in two years after being away from shore fishing for too long. We Decided to head down to a the mark where my profile picture was taking and try for a few ray and Bull huss.
Nothing showed for the first 3 hours, tides were barely moving and we didnt even get a bite. Danny was fishing with 2/0 2 hook paternoster, and I was fishing with the same on light spinning rod, and a 4/0 pulley rig fished on 13ft foot Greys Orion with an Okuma Mganetix 20cs. This was my first ever fishing session fishing with a multiplier from the shore. Never again until I learn to use the bloody thing right, got a nice big birds nest around 9.30. But I left the bait where it was. Just as that happened my spinning rod started to keel over and after a lovely fight of a few minutes, Brought in a nice ray. Shortly after landed a fish on the pulley rig unhooked him go and packed up that set up for another day. To finish the evening Danny had a lovely double shot of Ray a lovely thing to see. We decided to pack up around half 10 because its very easy on this mark to get cut off by the tide. I'd imagine we would have encountered a Bull Huss had we stuck out the night. We plan retry the mark again this week and fish it through the night!!
