People : Meself and a mate
Duration; 9 til 3am
Weather: Light south west breeze
Bait and rigs; Mackerel and squid on long and low rigs
Results; Painted rays and dogs
Fished a mark few nights ago on the hunch we would get rays from it , second cast i got a slow pull down which resulted in 9 and half pound painted ray , first time catchin the painted species of ray , was suprised how hard they pull back when ya get them in close, took me by suprise! Few casts later ratchet started to scream as what i hoped was another ray heading off with my bait ,after a good scrap another painted landed this one weightin 10pound on the button both were females...After that it was the tell tale rattling on the rod tips of dogs attackin our baits...Between the two of us we had around a dozen dogs. With a bit of south west breeze strengthing and bites slowing down when the tide turned we called it a night and headed off . Delighted with the fact we caught what we set out to catch from a new mark.
