Waterfoot

Fri Jan 23, 2015 2:13 pm

People:Me

Duration:4hrs

Tide:Rising to full

Weather:calm frosty

Bait:Frozen lug Mackeral sandeel

Rigs:bomber, 2 hook paternoster

Results:whiting - all pins!!!!

Hoping to contact a cod perhaps but the thousands of whiting never gave them a look in!! From the second the lead hit the sea bed the rodtip never stopped bouncing! If it did you knew they had stripped all the bait.
Where do adult whiting go ?

Hard to get away from them anywhere at the moment.

Adult whiting what's that? I'd hazard a guess and say Iceland or Norway? Or a trawlers net? The Irish Sea would appear to be a nursery area?

The Irish sea is probably the only piece of water they are safe in, they
wouldn't last a month in the Med.

I fish around there a lot. A big bait does keep them away for me. I was tortured with them last year but won't use anything under a 3/0 pennell this year and it is working in terms of PW avoidance.
