The weekend in poolbeg... 10/11-05-14

Weather:Crap
Bait:Lug and peeler
Rigs:Pullys
Results:5 hounds, 2 doggys, 2 codling and a bass
Report: Headed out sat afternoon to get bait, the weather was crap... Heavy wind and rain, but we carried on and dug some lug and picked some crab then headed to half moon....
Got the rods in the water and waited... Nothing for the first hour but the wind was howling and the rain hammering us but we were out so we carried on in hope , as the sun started going down we started getting knocks. About 30 mins before high we landed the first hound, About 3lbs.. The the dogs got landed along with the 2 codling... Just after high I landed a peach of a hound, Id say about 5lbs, but Iv no scales lol.... Carryed on till about an hour after high and 1 more was landed... After that we called it a night....
The sunday after noon myself and the 2 brother inlaws had enough with the screaming kids so we got the rods in the car and the left over lug... Went looking for crab but only found 2.... So after that I decided id try for a bass, my very first Dublin bass... First cast, big lug bait and waited. 10 mins in the water it got a bit of a knock, lifted into it and I was on..... I thought it was a small flounder till I seen the flash of sliver coming at me... There it was, the sexiest little bass Iv seen in a while.... The other 2 lads put the crab on and landed a hound each... After that the weather started to turn so we called it quits....
All in all it was a grand weekends fishing.
