People:Me
Duration: 6 hrs approx 9pm- 3am.
Tide: H.T. around 1;30am
Weather: Flat calm, warm sunny till dark.
Bait: Rag and Frozen mack
Rigs: Pulleys
Results: Dab, Dogs, Hound, Pouting? and Crab.
Report: Headed to Kiloughter, beautiful evening. I was using Mack and Rag cocktails. First fish was a Flat, Dab? Next catch was a hermit crab that stayed on the hook all the way back to shore. From there it was Dogfish heading towards H.T. A guy who was fishing for Dab a little way down the beach, donated some Rag he had leftover, I hooked into something that felt a bit stronger than the Doggies, 1st it ran against the tide, then ran with it, i thought i'd lost it, but when i reeled in the line, the tension was still there. Landed a nice little Smoothound pup, 1st time to catch one. I noticed when i put him back that he took off with a lot more power and speed than a Dogfish, i can only imagine how a double figure one must be on the line. More Dogfish followed, then with the last of the bait i caught a small Pouting? as the tide was going back out. Really enjoyable night.
