Report:
With much anticipation we headed out to start the task of filling up the species lists once again. Arrived down to Donaghadee at the same time as the rain, and it lasted a good half hour, the lifeboat was out, rescuing a couple of divers who got into difficulty round at Ballyholme. During daylight it was quite slow but after dark it picked up a bit, was fishing the Teknos slightly further out, and got a coalfish in the mid 20's on it, first real test of the new rod, and it was a joy to use. We picked up a miriad of species to bump our lists up to 5 and 6 species respectively, a great start to the new year.
However this was an evening of two halfs and at 7pm we were packed down for a move, left Brian on the Dee and headed for a local beach mark in hope of some flats to add to the species list, sadly after 3 hours of pretty solid whiting bashing we decided to call it quits. Dan had his own new Multi tip Teknos out on the beach, and it was awesome, seemed to be very responsive and registered the whiting bites well.
Great way to kick off the new year, roll on the next one!
