People:Me

Duration: Beach:17.00-18.15, Rocks:18.30-21.30

Tide:LW at 18.30

Weather:Moderate SW, dry

Bait:mac and rag

Rigs:flappers

Results:2X poor cod (I think??), 4X whiting, 1x dog and 1X pollock.

Report: Headed to Greystones for a spot of after work fishing last thursday. Went to the beach first, suspected it might be full of weed and wasn't wrong   Did manage a double of what I think are poor cod. Both had a barbel under their chins and were 12 and 14 cm respectively. Took a picture of the larger specimen which unfortunately isn't great but best I could do with the phone camera. The weed was causing a few problems so decided to move to the rocks. Plenty of bites from the bait robbing pin whiting from the off. Managed a dog and a pollock to about a pound as well. Also got asked a few questions by a man from the inland fisheries doing a survey about the value of recreational bass angling to the economy. The bass are safe enough from me so far but I do spend a bit at least trying to catch one or two!! Good to see them out and about asking anglers their views on this topic anyway.
