Tide:falling
Weather:nice
Bait:lug and frozen peeler
Rigs:2 hook flapper
Results:1 flounder
Report:This started out as a bass fishing trip to Dungarvan, but after finding my favourite beaches covered in thick weed idecided to cut my loses, save the browny points and nip over to Wexford for a quick session on my way home.
Glad i did, just the one fish but in the mid 40s and 2lb 10oz. A new PB.
What is the proper way to measure a flounder?

excelllent fish!!! lovely size!! well done!!!!!! I measure from tail to head, I do like to weight them as well (in a bag or sack) but the scales I have at present are crap but it gives me an idea if they are feeding well in certain areas

Thanks for all the comments. Yes i like to weigh them as well. I carry 2 sets of digital scales, a small pocket set and a berkeley lip grip. They are pricey but a really good job.

Get a Berkley Tec scales lads. They have 35lb and 100lb versions. Both weigh in 1oz increments. They are made for the catch and release Bass Tournaments in the US, so have to be very accurate. I've managed to certify the 100lb version for the last 3 years.

No, fished a 2 hook flapper with peeler on one hook and plain lug on the other. It took the plain lug.
