Glenarm Beach 23/07/05

Postby Lee337 » Mon Jul 25, 2005 12:49 am

People:2

Duration:4 1/2 Hrs

Tide: Fished second half of flood and start of ebb.

Weather: Lovely night, no wind, no rain.

Bait:Ragworm, Mackerel & Sandeels

Rigs:2 hook pats with size 1 & 1/0 hooks

Results:2 Plaice ( 1 nice one ), 5 coding & approx 12 Doggies.

Report:Great night, best for quite a while as fishing has been disappointing on Antrim coast recently. Codling and Plaice till dusk then the Dogs moved in. 12 Dogs is an estimate as we lost count. Love Doggy bashing ( not literally though ).

Tell me this, how the f*** do ye catch dogfish!?!??!?!?!

I often hear people calling them a torture, and saying they have been 'plagued' by dogfish while out fishing. Never once in my 10 or so years fishing have I caught one!!!

But I'd love to! I feel like a terrible angler coz everyone else seemingly catches them even when they don't want to, yet I can catch them when I'm looking for them!!!!!

IT HELPS IF YOU USE HOOKS MATE
AS LEE SAYS THE ANTRIM COAST IS FULL OF DOGS

I had a mate like that, Had never caught a Doggy til one day fishing the Blue Pool at Portrush...
Its like someone Pushed a Button after that, He couldn't get away from the Mutts...
He's now known as Dogfish Dave.

We have good night sessions of the beaches in clare during the winter and late autumn I use only two hooks when fishing now as bringing 3 dogs in on the beach and the other rod rattling with 3 more is tiring :?
