Well, tonight was the night for mackerel in Ballycotton. We caught around 20 from the breakwater and 3 decent sized pollock aswell. Everyone on the breakwater and main pier were catching them. Deffo the best night I've seen there in a good while.

A brave few years ago i camped at crookhaven, which i think is near ballycotton, and caught loads of pollack and wrasse from the rocks with trout fishing rod and reel and limpets scrapped from the rocks. I was a trout angler then and just had a go. When the tide started comming in you couldnt miss. If things are bad at ballycotton, give crookhaven a go from the rocks at the right side of the beach [when standing on the beach looking seaward] GOOD LUCK'

You have to come visit us again :) , you probably meant to say barleycove ? Ballycotton is a fair distance from crookhaven.
