Report:With Al coming down from up North to fish with us we decided to go to a beach that had been throwing up a few bass for us lately. The weather was against us from the off

but us anglers are hardy folk and we covered ourselves up as best we could and made our way onto the beach. Myself and Al arrived first followed shortly after by Ger(Mitch) with Neil arriving a few hours later. Conditions were tough with a lot of weed , grass, branches and other debris in the water ,,,,,,,,,and a strong tide taking our baits back onto the beach.I was first in with a black bin liner, followed shortly after by a white plastic bag.It was raining constantly but at least it was mild enough. I got my biggest knock of the night but it was just half a tree which had made its way onto the beach and i had a snap off trying to land it

.Needless to say we just fished the one rod each in these conditions. Our spirits were lifted when Mitch landed a small bass

, showing how its done , then Al landed a nice whiting, saving his blank. We knew we were up against it here and when Neil suggested we go to Bray Harbour for some shelter and maybe a fish or two , we agreed

. Mitch and Neil(did i mention that he blanked

) headed home and myself and Al went to Bray, arriving at 9pm approx. It wasnt too bad here when we arrived and we made our way down to the end of the pier. There were a party of anglers already fishing, . We set up and I had a welcome whiting to save my blushes. For the next few hours we enjoyed the fishing despite the wind and rain, with Al landing 5 or was it 6 doggies and me finishing with 4 doggies and a whiting

.It was great meeting up with Al again, and we had a good chat about all things fishing in the car on the way up and down, pity Noel, Doggie 3131 could make it, but theres always another day, and maybe the weather gods will be a bit kinder to us next time.We left after midnight and Al kindly dropped me to my door. Al, as usual, was going for a few hours kip before going to another mark for yet more fishing
