People:myself and midget

Duration:6hours(friday)
4 hours(monday)

Tide:3 hours dropping, 3 rising(friday)

Weather:flat calm

Bait:herring and mackeral

Rigs:pullys, flappers and running ledgers

Results:12th_ myself-conger, coalies, pollack, huss
Alex- conger coalies, pollack and scad

16th- myself- 12 mackeral, 15 pollack, 2 conger, 1 coalfish, 1 doggie, 2 codling.
Alex- 1 conger, 1 mullet, 1 sea scorpion(long spined), pollack and coalies

Report: Monday the 12th was a nice calm evening, after seeing a few conger around the area i said i would give it a go, we got a few nice bites early on and alex got the first conger(10lbs) after 10 minutes. we were getting plenty of small fish to keep us busy. then i got a small huss on the conger rod then followed by a small conger about 7 lbs. overall a nice little session.

Friday 16th: we were looking forward to friday since the monday session so i went down an hour earlier to get some mackeral and ended up getting plenty of pollack with them! but we had fresh bait for the session with loads of herring for backup. Once it got dark the fish started to feed. i was first into a conger, which was 7lbs as i was weighing it alexs ratchet started singing, he also got a conger of 5.5lbs it was unusual to get both at the same time! we put the congers back and started to get a few coalies and pollack on the small rods to keep us busy. Alex managed to spot and catch a nice mullet of 5lbs,then the ratchet went and i got another conger of 9lbs. they are great fish to catch on beachcasters. so much more exciting then using boat rods! we continued to get a few more small fish then the tide dropped so low it seemed to die down. untill i got a codling on the beachcaster. small about 25cms max. was pleased with that so blasted another bait out to the same place and managed to get another one a few minutes later! was very happy with that. it seemed to slow down after that only the occasional small fish. A really enjoyable evening, hadnt been out in ages before thatnearly a year but im addicted again! haha i have some poor pictures on my phone il try put up later!

You say you got a scad, but didnt mention it in your report, forgive my ignorance, but would scad be caught from the shore quite regularly? Dont ever remember seeing it on a shore report before :?
