been over here a few years now, so decided to get the rods out again after a 4 yr break, i have noticed most over this side spin, and now i know why, tackle loss has been horrendous.had a couple of weeks off now, so been trying to get in as much as poss. fished carraun 3 times, had dog, 2 congers about 4lb each, 3 wrasse, two decent size, poor cod and mackerel. went to betraw strand last week, but the channel was full so had to fish the point, had one big take but lost it, before the rain came.
had a quick dangle at ballycastle harbour at the weekend, but fished to the right of the pier, the weed was the problem here, had what felt like a large conger on, but he won, then a jet ski turned up and used the mark as a race track, so that was that.
going to have another look at ballycastle on tues (weather permitting) and try the strand at low water.

the reports at kilary harbour look good at the moment, is it worth fishing at the present time or will it be better leaving it till the end of the tourist season, cheers lads........
