 Just used google earth to try and judge my casting distance off Bangor pier and it just reinforced the fact that I'm crap.No but it is useful for measuring your casting distance in meters, yards, feet etc .I'm getting about 70yards.But heading to Portaferry tonight to practice.

i usually use it to check for good fishing marks, i.e beaches that you can't see from the road, and with connemara being a big place it's very useful....
found a couple of good spots that need to be checked out.. seems like good clean beaches for flatties...

You need to wait a few more seconds to let the picture focus in. I normally tilt the screen view, it shows the hills and valleys up better.
I heard from someone who has the bought version that its fantastic for detail, you really may be able to see into the Playboy mansion Robert
Bit upsetting though to see a crinkly old guy doing things to those nice young girls

Many areas are still low resolution but I hear that they will be updated in due course. Was looking at my old house in Belfast on it last night and trying to see when the picture was taken based on which of the neighbours had new cars. Belfast all seems to have got the high resolution treatment.
