In winter, when a pier and easy car access are the only way to get fishing, balancing the rod against an open hatch-back boot usually leads to it falling over. Anyone with a good idea to stop this?

point the car in the direction you're fishing, and put the rod in the angle of the open door. or buy a purpose made thing, if it exists.

OK
1. Open the door
2. Use the wing mirror
3. Buy a gismo (I might)
but the best one:
4. Get the tripod out first - I like it. Common snese is a wondeful thing.
