you might all know this one but i thought id put it up for people who don't, an upside down gemini lead clip is a great rotten bottom. tie a weak link to the lead and lip, and hang the lead off the clip's u-bit, which is normally an n-bit.

have you had any probs getting the lead to stay attached to such a small clip during casting????

how well does it hold under casting..
i'd hate to do it only to have the link slip mid cast and chuck my lead half way across the beach:shock:
good idea though :D

nope,pic looks kinda dodgy but thats for illustration purposes only, it fits in better than that.

i usually bend over the clip a little more and make my own leads for this type of rotton bottom using smaller diameter loops for the top of the lead and this has never let me down casting

used this technique alot myself for rough ground. grand for casting as long you dont jerk it, or allow slack line during the cast. more for lobbing 70 yards or so rather than power casting. FWIW
