hi
Im 37 and havent fished since i was 12 with my dad.I have being promising myself i would go out again for the last 12 months.I have a rod and reel and some bits and pieces but dont want to go out for the first time again on my own. if anyone has any advise or knows of a club where i wont look like a complete muppet i would be very gratefull . again im not a junior I just dont want to make a fool of myself and would rather do it properly than not at all

Hi there,

Why not join the SAI SAC on this site. I've found it very good, good bunch of lads (possibly some ladies too but never come across them). Plenty of advice and I wouldn't worry about looking like a muppet - plenty of company there I suspect - myself included...
You don't say where-abouts you are located - might help to get some local clubs or lads on this site to give you some info or arrange a trip with you etc.

Derek, when are you thinking of going out? I'm due a session on the southside again shortly.

I normally fish Killiney or Greystones beaches at least once a month, or at least I did when I lived in Ringsend and was near the dart. I've moved to Tyrrellstown now and don't get out as much.

I'd be into a session in the next few weeks.

thanks for the replies lads. any sat or sunday or evening time week days suits me I have no idea what time people fish at day or night so i will leave that up to the experts i have wheels so transport is not a problem.

your more than welcome to come out on a shore or boat trip any evvening ya like i fish around that area and other areas a lot,,
pleanty of nice fish showing up on the boats at the mo


ps mb3 found that tope spot fishing it tomorrow will let you and al know how its goes ,,oh by the way al seat fixed and ready for you

wohoo we found a nice spot for the tope although we only landed 2 and lost 4 plus we got some big huss,,the tope were 50lb and 45lb well worth the trip i had one which snapped the line after 10 seconds of fight ,, dont think i wanted to see how big he was
