Well done lads,

A 16lb ling is a wicked fish and it sounds like you all had a busy day, I was in the area on the day so around midday I took a trip to Carrigaholt to see if anyone was brave enough to try for the mackerel from the pier,
When I got there I couldn’t believe how the weather had changed from what it was on Sunday when I was fishing the bay there from a little inflatable,

I looked out around Beal bar to see if I could spot ye but visibility was poor so I got my wet rump home,
Pity about not being able to have a bash at the tope, I was looking forward to seeing if they were in yet, it’s a fish I have yet to try for and will be trying hard to add one to the list this year so lets hope for better weather,

Ye seem to have picked a nice calm area by the look of the picture and did well, so fair play to you all.

That east wind coming down the estuary really stirred things up, I must remember that if / when I take the boat down,

Seen a little Orkney tied on at the pier that belongs to a pot man.. He must have been out in it because all I could see was weed hanging all over the cuddy, brave man,

i put a report up, as you say i agree the estuary is to be treated with
caution as conditions can change quickly
