this is the suspect it think its a juvinile 3 bearded rockling :wink:

i will leave it up to the experts :shock: :wink: :lol: :lol: :lol:

yeah .. looks like a three bearded rockling, very mottled in colour but i have seen them like that :wink:

i taught it might be as most of the three bearded i have caugh have been bigger than this one with more pronounced spots.
if you look at the pic of the shore i caught it is more consistant in colour :wink:

def not a 3 bearded rockling ,shore rockling all the way :lol:
If someone shows you a mark to fish, respect it and dont pass it of as one of your own, dont tell every man and his dog about it.

No every one on the pier agreed a three beard, Would've got a better pic if my dad wasn't so impatient :roll:

three bearded are a lighter colour than shore rockling ,also they have better defined spots ,we get loads of those mottled effect shore rockling from bangor pier but as they get bigger they get darker with tiny cream coloured spots on them .
both have 3 beards which confuses alot of people .

shore rockling it is so... strange the way you get mottlerd shore rockling up there and we get mottled 3bearded down here(rare but they are about)..

as for conor P the fish has to be identifiable.. as in a full length pic of the fish, especially smaller fish, and with huss, if its the same size as an average doggie a pic of the nose and mouth area to be included

Happy new year everyone out there. Can someone enlighten me ,is there also a 5 beard rockling . I remember a few years ago on Whitehead prom I caugh three or four rockling with 5 beards .
