Date: Saturday 30-11-2019
Venue: Blue Pool Cliffs
Low water: 2pm
Fishing time: 2:30-4:30pm
Weather: East wind, cloudy
Result: 4 dogfish, 1 pollock, 1 poor cod
As my pier fishing most likely to be over for the year, I tried to get some fish from my favourite cliffs, The weather was not nice especially with the east wind
but that’s the only day I could go.
Arrived at the low tide, I went down to collect some limpets to have a variety of baits for the wrasse fishing. Of course I did find them but I also found a baby seal.
Really nice creature. He was a bit far away from the water and it took him at least 5 minutes to return.
Then the fishing began: first bite just after 5 minutes: nice dogfish caught on mackerel strip with half crab. Another 5 minutes, then the second fish, same size dogfish.
Then again and again.. Then I realized that I was so exciting with pulling the fish so I forgot to put my mackerel to the box and here we go: my dog ate the bait..
I could easy get a few more but even 4 dogfish is still not bad count for end of November.
Crab alone and limpets did not produce any fish that day, some odd poor cod came only on the 4/0 hook.
Then I put 3 feathers with soft bait and got my first ever pollock caught on trace from cliffs.
The length of the trace and the lead were accurate enough and did not tangle.
After 4pm it became darker, so I decided to go home. Not a bad day, tight lines!!!
