Scam be careful

I'm in the market for a new camera something like the Nikon D5000 and I scoured the net for the best bargain, I also went into our local camera shop and priced a Nikon D5000 (€545) The web site justnikon was selling them for €375 posted great price I thought? but was a bit apprehensive so held off, last night I tried to go in to the justnikon web site and could not gain access so I went into a forum that was on my Google search which was warning of a scam see link:

Just warning lads be careful they keep changing their name and stinging people, I was only a breath away myself

Remember if a deal seem too good to be true it's probably a scam.

Close call Paul Jessops up the north do good deals. If your going for the D5000 get a battery Grip the battery doesn't last long

Try express warehouse too. Can be very good

my father in law got stung with the site called justcannon its based in england been on to the cops and the bank if u google it you will find info about it .i got a great fugi compact slr in argus for 180 euro its great 12 mega pilax and 1 to 18 zoom lens check them out

just canon and just nikon have been going for a while

You were lucky there. Just in case you don't know, you should be able to pick up a D5000 body in England for about €460 give or take and about €600 with a kit lens. Always check out Ebay before you buy anything though as shops avoid all the government rates and shop rental by selling online and the majority of sellers are bona fide photographic dealers. I'm a pro photographer and have been buying equipment from England through Ebay for years without any problems. Just be careful of sellers with a small amount of feedback and you should be fine.

Yes i was lucky and it kinda put me off. I found a place beside me here in Swords called the Camera Cabin and I got a Nikon D5000 for €565 with a 8gig card and a 18mm to 55mm lens I thought this was a good price???

Just a note to everyone buying online. I have been purchasing loads of things online and never had an issue. Iuse Paypal to pay for everything. There were a couple of purchases on eBay that didn't arrive and all mu money were returned by Paypal. The added security and cushion provided by paypal is well worth signing up. Any merchant that takes Paypal gets through due diligence and close scruity. This is the reason why Paypal guarantees your purchase.

I have bought items that cost more than 2K on the web and no worries so far.

That is a fair price Paul and if you're new to photography it's a good camera to start off with. I'm a Canon user myself so I don't know much about Nikon models. If you've any interest in photography and don't want to just take pictures while fishing then give Swords Photo Group a buzz. I see you're local and they're a good bunch and there's a couple of lads into fishing as well. You can get their info from the web or give me a shout and I can give you the numbers of the people that matter. I think they're always open to new members.

Thanks for that info I might follow that up??? Yes I'm a complete novice I guess! and willing to learn. I'm doing a course on Digital Photography as part of my College BA in All Hallows at the moment and I'll see how that pans out. A lot to learn but worth it I think.

get out with your camera and get clicking paul take photos of loads of stuff with different settings and try everything the more you use the camera the easier it will become and if you want those wow pics you wonder how people manage to be in the right place at the right time bring you camera everywhere with you,i was travelling to work the other morning up towards drogheda and the sunrise was massive huge orange sky with pink clouds and indigo laced through in patches ,where was my camera AT HOME

Yeah!.... I was out on Sunday morning before going down to fish the Leinster League Snapping like mad just using the manual setting.... It'll take a lot of getting use too,,,, got some good shots but a lot of them were crap. I'd be afraid to drag it down the beach while fishing don't think the sand would do the camera any favors. As you say it's all practice.
