Cracking mullet pic

Not mine, but saw this photo on pix.ie and thought I'd share, cracking photo of mullet in shallow water....

Its called fishing, not catching. If it was called catching it wouldn't be fishing!

Would love to know where it was taken!!!! :lol: :lol:
Imagine there would be a que of lads with fishing rods!!! :D

at a guess i'd say it was taken down by the Claddagh basin here in galway (going by the rest of the pics)
and no fishin allowed in the area.. something to do with all the swans there ...

The comments on the photo page say beside Jury's Inn - reckon its where the water from the canal flows into the river - there's a shallow ledge there at low tide, think thats where he got the pic.
And haven't you caught mullet down that way yourself??? :wink:

i've caught them up as far as O'Brien's bridge.. and all around, before the signs went up.. still.. no signs on nemo's restaurant side :D

sorry for going off topic here - but i thought the signs were only down at that bay where the swans are - do they go back up as far as the point where the canal enters now?

signs are only down by swans... i was just stating that it is possible to catch them further up the river and across from the swans...

i'll see if i can find a pic of them up by the salmon traps..

There's no fishing allowed between Wolfe Tone Bridge and O'Briens bridge, above O'Briens bridge there is fishing allowed for salmon by permit only. Didn't realise there were no fishing signs down by the Claddagh, that must be the city council decided that. Was thinking after my last post it was the Long Walk side you got the mullet on alright...
