Hi lads I wonder would anybody help me out, I do a bit of LRF in the sea and really enjoy it and I would like to try and catch a few perch on lures. I would really appreciate it if anybody out there would PM me a few marks around the Leinster area that they know hold some perch and I promise I will not burn these marks. I can go straight to the canals, but its were to start as I could spend the whole day going from lock to lock without coming across any shoals.. Many thanks Mozza

Cabin fever John, had a look at the coarse fishing link and there is very little traffic on it. Think I will have to get up off my arse and go looking myself.

You'll get them in kilkock village. You'll have to move around till you find them. You'll also probably catch a few pike. Orange lures around 1 inch do the trick

If you don't mind traveling a bit, most of the midland lakes and rivers hold good numbers of perch, alltho it's hard to find anywhere with specimen perch anymore.
If you want good numbers lough ramor (about 1 hour 15 mins from Dublin) or lough lene in collinstown has loads of perch, if you want bigger fish lough ennell or the barrow are probably your best bet,
I use larger soft plastics than the sea lrf gear or small plugs and mepps.
Lob worms are deadly for the bigger fish.
