anyone lure fishing?

Anyone chuck a lure or two this week?

i did but was just trying out a rod and reel. got them from the missus for christmas and decided they were gathering dust long enough. was getting bait and brought it with me. didnt really expect to catch anything and didnt but at least it came out of the bag.
i was down east cork way this mornin and brought it again but left it in the car as it was a bit windy and the waves were coming high onto the rocks.
ive never caught anything on gear that light so cant wait to pull something it with it, even a pin whiting would do to begin with.......

great to get out though, i was around east ferry today (small one asleep in the car seat) no fishing ... but the water looked great.
I stopped on the far side to see if i could spot any mullet, but the waves were too choppy... some wind surfers were having a great time!
Ya... if you get a 6 or 7 lb bass on that rod you will be addicted!

i was down near kinsale gettin a bit of bait this mornin and got as much as i needed so went for a stroll with the dogs. i found 1 mark that looked good. plenty of rocks and weed around but 1 big patch of open water between them. pretty hard to get down to it but i managed but that was without a rod. might give it a go at high water durin the week if the weather is ok.
as for a big Bass on the light rod. id take a 1lb fella now at this stage on any kind of rod. still waiting on my first one but gonna put in the hours big time in the next few weeks before the spawning ban comes in.

Ya...i cant wait for it to kick off ...it was such a poor winter season (for me any rate )
Early mornings would be worth a go........i didnt get out this week....
