West African Shore Fishing Festival
The Gambia 14/15/16th Nov 2008

A 3-day open beach competition which will form part of a fabulous 7,10,14 or 21 day fishing holiday in this superb tropical location.
Relax in the sun, fish the rich beaches of the Gambia and enjoy the local culture of Africa.

All the usual holiday excursions are available for those non fishing days and the hotel entertainment and a huge selection of restaurants, bars and clubs will mean you will never get bored.

The competition offers you a chance to hopefully win a lump of the costs back as the festival is deliberately aimed at giving Non match anglers a chance to compete on an even playing field, the points system means that one big fish can rocket you up the score board.

No Compulsory Innoculations but it is highly advisable,
Malaria pills are essentialn and Insurance is also required.

Target species :- Tarpon, Tigerfish, Cubera Snapper , Sailfish, Tuna, Threadfin salmon, many diff species of ray, Guitarfish, Jack's, Barracuda, Queenfish, Captainfish, Catfish, Ladyfish, Cassava and many more.....
And some of these fish can top 100lbs from the beach!!

Nice one Kev, ill be there alright, im heading over on the 7th, there has been some good reports of late with some big Guitar fish coming off Sanyang and Tangee point and plenty of Jacks and Captainfish from Cape point, Kuto and Figarra,,, i just hope its the same once we get over, saying that last year there were plenty of fish about and were a better stamp than some previous years, the biggest i had was a stingray nudging 60lb and the Jacks averaged 10lb+ these were excelent sport on the plugging gear
