CARRICKFERGUS BEACH & ROCKERS S.A.C. OPEN COMPETITION UP

sunday 16th december 2007
venue , waterfoot co. Antrim
check in mariners lounge waterfoot town from 10.30
fishing from 1pm to 6pm
non ifsa members may enter by paying an extra levy towards insurance
limited to 90 pegs , regardless of entry there will be three zones senior zones will be spread evenly between the senior entrants along the beach all three zones will have a mininmum£100 sterling cash prize regardless of entry plus a top class rod, 2nd will also recieve cash and a beach buddy 3rd will recieve cash and an ian golds match tripod prizes are the same in all three zones. Junior 1st prize will recieve £50 sterling cash and a prize 2nd junior cash and a prize 3rd cash and prizeand depending on the amount of junior prizes sponsored we shall go as far as we can with the juniors
there will also be a two man team event , longest flatfish and longest roundfish pools all optional if anyone is planning to enter there is also penn points available
also best out of state and best lady prizes a super ballot with some exceptional prizes will also be held
pre entry is advisable as with two weeks to go there is already 50 places taken, the competition will be a catch & release and rules will be available at the venue there will also be an overal senior and he or she will pick up the p&o ferry crossing and hopefully if we can get it back the p&o ferries perpetual trophy, well won by young steven brennan from dublin last year all anglers will be more than welcome , species caught in the past have been flounder, turbot, brill, coalfish, codling, haddock, mullet, bass, ls.dogs, whiting, there is sometimes weed washed up on this beach after an easterly wind however winds at this time of year should be from n/w or s/w but be prepared just in case, the prizes for the comp are already ordered and the junior table is already piling up, if your novice or a competent angler it doesnt matter as the beach is reasonably fair, double pegs are going fast and should definatley be pre entered come along and join in it will be a great competition to pre enter you may contact johnny gilbert on this site or toady also failing that bobby laughlin is the club treasurer , good luck and tight lines especially to the lads from kilmuckridge wexford who are coming up for the first time
waterfoot is about an hour on the coastal road from belfast if you plan to stay there are many b&bs in the area
