Before this thread gets caught up in IFSA bashing i would just like to say massive thinks to Eamonn Fogarty, Peter Flahive and Philip O'Sullivan for all their help and for putting up with us for the week. Thanks lads.

Also a huge thanks to the stewards who did a sterling job and were very generous with the measurements :D . Also thanks to anyone else who helped us, we didn't get the gold but silver isn't to be sniffed at all things considered.

My commiserations to the under 16s too, last place was not what they deserved as they are all top class anglers.

Lastly a personal thanks to Phil McIlvenna for lending me a load of gear that i needed, it was hugely appreciated.

Alex Dainty

P.S. I almost forgot to congratulate the bait suppliers as well, all the crab supplied was top notch stuff, we really couldn't have asked for better bait. Supplying that much crab is no mean feat, and they did themselves proud.

i definitely agree alex everyone mentioned deserves the utmost credit. all of which do what they do from their own free time and with often little thanks. personaly i owe eamon, peter and philip a lot for what they did for me at junior level. but the blame lies with the organisers and thats the end of it. with the organisers being locals how in god's name did they not foresee that certains marks would not be fishable at certain stages of the tide and as well as that, certain marks regardless of the tide would not be a productive and fair match venue. now i wouldnt consider the coleraine area to be the mecca of irish match angling venues but still, surely they were alternative venues that contained water without the prospect of walking through 300 yards of deadly mud? i can also understand that this time of year finding stretches of beach devoid of tourists and sun bathers to accomadate a match can be difficult but still come on guys!! its really beyond belief something like this happens the second time in a row we host the home nations. for those in youghal you can all remember tackling rivers of crabs with mac and rag!

Its not all about Agm's,Rules, regulations and politics,

Its common sense, Alot of what the Ifsa have Is good and needs no changing.

Its little cock ups year after year that are easy prevented that turn so many quality anglers off.
