hi i have a new fishing boat moored in bangor called Christina. We have had the boat in the water for the past week fishing almost every day but we are having trouble catching anything except mackerel.we are mainly using feathers and baited feathers and have fished isle of muck, whitehead, groomsport and ballyholme with little success.could anyone give me some help into what rigs and bait i could use to target other species?mainly larger cod and pollack?

Why don't you try a couple of wrecks like the Ulrika off Mew Island? You will catch plenty of decent Pollack, Coalies, a few Cod and Wrasse, nearly all these will fall to a standard lure traces or rubber sandeel feathered traces, baiting with mackeral or ragworm may help your chances, perticularly for the Wrasse and Cod. Seemingly nobody can escape the Mackeral anywhere currently...

Others may be able be able to help more re: rigs / traces etc..

I think i seen your boat fishing Ballyholme bay yesterday afternoon, i wouldn't waste my time there unless you enjoy macks. :P
